Index Visa (as per 26 June 2006):

I. Transit Visa: Index A-111 (Maximum stay is 14 days)

In transit in the territory of Indonesia intending to continue journey to another country or back to origin country
In transit in the territory of Indonesia to connect with another transportation to continue journey out of Indonesia In transit in the territory of Indonesia due to emergency in their transportation, whether and other reasons which cause delay of the journey

II. Visit Visas

There are 3 (three) kinds of Visit Visas:

Single Entry Visa
Multiple Entry Visa
Visa on Arrival

1. Single Entry Visa: Index B-211

The overseas visa officer has the authority to issue a Single Entry Visa to an applicant only upon approval from the Director General of Immigration in Jakarta-Indonesia or designated Immigration Officer. Index B-211 is a single entry visa for maximum stay is 60 days and can be extended 4 (four) times ? 30 days of each extension.

Kind of purposes:

Government visit, which covers all aspects, related to government like:
- other government with Indonesian government
- individual with Indonesian government
- international organization with Indonesian government
- a private foreign organization/body to Indonesian government

A tour visit, which includes various tourism activities like:
- visiting tourist objects in Indonesia
- managing/conducting package tours to Indonesia

A socio-culture visit, which includes various aspects of social culture activities:
- visit to family members or relatives in Indonesia
- visit social organization in the same field of endeover
- exchange visits between educational and training in Indonesia
- to give a lecture or join a non commercial seminar/conference in social, cultural or governmental fields, with permission of a related institution/department
- to discuss matters in the framework of trade transactions
- to make on the spot observations and to discuss trade commodities for the export-import business
- business activity not engaged as an employee
- to join with an international show/exhibition
- to join with a meeting held by the head office or representative in Indonesia
- to discuss with Indonesian enterprises matters related to capital or commodity production by overseas enterprise
- to investigate possibilities for merchandising in the framework of capital investment with prospective partners in Indonesia
- to make a journalistic visit with the permission from a related institution/department

2. Multiple Entry Visa: Index D-212

The overseas visa officer has the authority to issue a Multiple Entry Visa to an applicant only upon approval from the Director General of Immigration in Jakarta-Indonesia or designated Immigration Officer. Index D-212 is a multiplele entry visa for maximum stay is 60 days and can not be extended

3. Visa on Arrival: Index B-213

This visa is for citizen of:

Argentina ? Australia ? Austria ? Belgium ? Brazil ? Canada ? Denmark ? Egypt ? Uni Emirates Arab ? Finland ? France ? German ? Holland ? Hungary ? India ? Iran ? Ireland ? Italy ? Japan ? Kuwait ? Luxemburg ? Maldive ? New Zealand ? Norway ? Oman ? Poland ? Portugal ? Qatar ? China ? Russia ? Saudi Arabia ? Spain, South Africa ? South Korea ? Sweden ? Switzerland ? Taiwan ? United Kingdom ? United States of America

Maximum stay is 30 days and can not be extended.

Notes: for single and multiple entry visa, foreigner should be reported to local police within 48 hours from arrival date

III. Limited Stay Visa or Temporary Resident Visa

The overseas visa officer has the authority to issue a Limited Stay Visa to an applicant only upon approval from the Director General of Immigration in Jakarta-Indonesia or a designated Immigration Officer.

The validation of the visa is 60 days calculated from the date of issuance at the Indonesian Embassy overseas. A foreign national who fails to use the visa within the designated time period must submit a re-application for a new visa.

As soon as Limited Stay Visa holder arrives in Indonesia, within 7 days she/he should take finger prints at Local Immigration.

a. Limited Stay Visa for the purpose of working:

Index C-311

Working as an expert in World Trade Organization (WTO) with a limited stay permit for 2 (two) years

Index C-312

Working as an expert with a limited stay permit for 1 (one) year, such as:
・ Employment as an expatriate expert for the government or the private sector.
・ Employment as a non governmental organization for Indonesian Government.
・ Do work abroad a ship/floating installation operating in Indonesian waters, territorial seas, a continental shelf installation, or an Indonesian exclusive economic zone
・ Religious duties
・ Hold professional activities such as artist, entertainments, medication, lawyer, consultants and other professions with the permission of related agency/ department.
・ Hold a commercial show/ exhibition
・ Giving consultation guidance, information or training in applying and innovating technology in order to increase the quality of the design of products as well as to further marketing efforts abroad.
・ Doing activity on film making for commercial purposes with the permission of a related institution

b. Limited stay permit for other purposes, not to work such as:

Index C-313
Foreign Investment with limited stay for 1 (one) year

Index C-314

Foreign Investment with limited stay for 2 (two) years

Index C-315
Training or scientific research with limited stay for 1 (one) year

Index C-316
Education with limited stay for 2 (two) years

Index C-317
Limited Stay for 1 (one) year.
・ a foreign wife who is joining a husband whose Indonesian citizenship
・ a legitimate foreign child under 18 yrs old who is joining Indonesian citizen parents
・ a foreign wife who is joining a foreign husband whose Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) or Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP)
・ a foreign child who is joining a foreign parent whose Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) or Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP)
・ repatriation for a former Indonesian citizen
・ a foreign national whose age minimum 55 years old who want to retire and live in Indonesia
・ a foreign wife who is joining a foreign husband who has Retirement Limited Stay Permit.

Notes about a LIMITED STAY PERMIT (KITAS):
Other permits that the Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) holder should have:
・ MERP (Multiple Exit Re-entry Permit) valid for 6 months, for the extension will be valid for 5 months. It is issued by local immigration.
・ STM/ Resort Police Report issued by local resort police office
・ SKPPS/ Temporary Resident Registration certificate issued by Civil Dept.
・ SKTT/ Temp. Domicile Permit issued by Community Office
・ SKLD/ Police Card issued by Central Police Office
・ Laporan Keberadaan TKA (Expatriate Existance Report) issued by Manpower Dept. It is only applied for Index C-311 and Index C-312

For Index C-311 and Index C-312, the permits prior to the issuance of the temporary resident visa are:
・ Technical permits issued by related governmental Department according to the company business line
・ RPTKA (Rencana Penempatan Tenaga Kerja Asing), Expatriate Placement Plan issued by Manpower Department.
・ Recommendation of TA-01, issued by Manpower Department.
IKTA/ Work Permit (applied for Index C-311 and Index C-312) issued by Manpower Department and should pay DPKK fee for USD. 1200/ year
